NE©XT Accelerator is an interdisciplinary project focused on emerging designers, visual and performing artists, dancers, photographers, digital artists and filmmakers.

The main aim of the project is to offer new opportunities to the new generation of artists, enabling them to make a living from creative works. The project offers them not only the opportunity to produce and present their works to a larger and international audience, but also to grow professionally with a more entrepreneurial, innovative and transnational approach.

The proposed project demonstrates a very good match and relevance to the Cooperation Programme. The applicant has indicated that the project meets five priorities and objectives. The described project demonstrates meeting all of them to a very good extent.

The project promotes the circulation of artistic works, providing emerging artists with skills, and competences that contribute to strengthening the cultural and creative sectors. It fosters the mobility of artists and their works through the three festival editions and the foreseen ten innovative entrepreneurship residencies.

Through the “ Incubator Work Programme”, the project wants to analyze and resume the current Art Incubator practices in Europe, mapping them and finding the best results to test new business models during the connected training programme.

The use of new digital technologies represents a recurring theme in all the activities of the project, from the art production to the incubator work programme, showing a real cutting edge approach to the art field in all its aspects (productions, networking, business). The project will contribute to the digitalization of arts in Europe and the partners plan to deliver different digital outputs to wide European audiences such as video games, interactive media, film and performance media.

The proposed project demonstrates a clear focus on audience development. All the described activities are intended to provide cultural players (young artists, art educators, art producers, curators) with skills and competences and to enable them to collaborate internationally. The NEU/NOW Live Festival will select artistic graduate work that includes specific audience(s) in the works and/or approaches audiences in new ways, through digital technologies, or makes otherwise new connections with

audiences. Audience development is part of the training programme, and results in the training format ‘New Ways of looking at Creativity and Audiences’. The project intends to investigate the distinction between artists and audiences, trying gradually to integrate audience in the artistic works. This development will be explored, analysed and discussed during a seminar -‘Making a Living from the Arts’.

Re-spect is about the re-thinking of the figure, role and therefore training of the conservator in the XXI century. Despite the eventual focus of their training, the convergence of many different competences (ranging from scientific to technological and artistic) into one single professional profile represents an opportunity for future answers that our world, if not just its cultural heritage, is demanding more and more.

Re-spect is about the fostering of a culture of care. A common attitude towards both the arts and the environment; to embrace the worlds of conservation & restoration into one common vision, one similar approach, providing an opportunity to express the outcomes of interventions, which are different in scale and specific technologies, with common words. So that re-touching lacunas of a worn out painting would be the same as re-planting the shores of a damaged estuary; both re-cover the readability and the authenticity of a phenomenon, whether it is artistic or natural.

Re-spect is also about the fostering of a better understanding of the social, cultural and economic benefits of conservative interventions; what had also been referred to as “re-economy”. That is to say to provide decision makers, politicians and designers as well as professionals with tools and methods to better understand and interpret such positive C&R results and incorporate them into local economies.

TimeCase. Memory in Action is a European project financed by the Lifelong Learning Programme. The network of organisations, groups and individuals involved in TimeCase were interested in participatory arts and 20th century memory practices. The first stage of the project concentrated on collecting exemplary case studies of participatory practices and showcased the studies on the TimeCase website. The second stage of the project identified the best practices in the case studies and created a toolkit to help organisations that work with memory to reflect on their own participatory practices, to investigate and to explore ways in which they could begin to re-imagine our recent history. TimeCase offered experts from organisations working with cultural memory effective practice examples, knowledge and tools to enhance their participatory practices.

Timecase Abstract

SISMILE- Increase vocational skills to face earthquake risk inside of building aims to bring a new approach to the furniture industry via creating an education programme about nonstructural elements inside buildings against earthquake risks, which is a virgin area for furniture workers and manufacturers. The main result of the project will be an e-learning system which will include design techniques of nonstructural elements such as chairs, windows, doors, sofas, tables, wardrobes, kitchens and mattresses for many different uses (e.g. households, schools, offices).

The craftsmen are considered as the weakest ring of the manpower of restoration sector because of their low education level. Besides the current training systems of European countries couldn't respond the needs of sector and craftsmen.

These two unavoidable elements forced the partnership to create a project to help to the target group to improve their current knowledge and to increase their employability or/and employment conditions. The RESELTAM II project was created on base of the RESELTAM I project's aims and results.

The RESELTAM I was a LdV Multilateral Development of Innovation project which was co-funded by EU and produced an e-Learning tool which provides possibilities to the craftsmen to take an education about specific subjects without facing with the logistic, educational, cultural, economic problems. The multilingual e-Learning tool is based on visual and textual elements and its practical side is needed to be improved. The RESELTAM II gave an opportunity to improve this side of the eLearning.

Reseltam Final report

RESELTAM Project (Development of web-bases education module for the craftsmen working in restoration sector to receive a vocational training according to European Quality Standardization) aim to analyze the educational needs and expectations of craftsmen and employers who work in restoration sector in Turkey, Poland, France and Italy.

These analyses will be compared with the current educational systems of four countries, an educational program will be developed in the framework of European Quality Standards which the craftsmen could easily understand, reach and this program will respond to their needs.

The developed educational programs will be adapted to the e-learning system produced in Germany and will be tested in the target groups in Italy, Turkey, Poland and France. At the end of the project a handbook will be produced to help users with the e-learning system.

Artesnet Europe develops new approaches to learning, teaching and research • in the arts in a rapidly changing European context of new employment opportunities for artists in the Economy of Culture, knowledge-based society and national/European qualifications networks.

• continues to work on a European Qualifications Framework for Higher Arts Education and test the Quality Assurance and Enhancement Methodology developed in the previous thematic network, inter}artes. It hosts a register of experts to facilitate peer visits and self-evaluative exercises.
